A successfully completed apprenticeship is awarded a QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate and the apprentice may then be eligible for consideration for entry into related degree programmes provided by the Institutes of Technology providing. 

The main craft trades have been designated by SOLAS and the Department of Education and Skills and include a wide number of areas related to science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) such as agricultural mechanics, aircraft mechanics, electrical instrumentation, metal fabrication and toolmaking among others.
