Request a School Visit

Please read the following instructions on how to successfully request a visit to your secondary school by a STEM volunteer:

Step 1: Fill in the below registration form to register your secondary school. This registration step is only required to be completed once

Step 2: Following this, you will receive an email within 48 hours, containing a link to verify your registration and set up your school profile.

Step 3: IMPORTANT! You must then log in to the school booking system and request a volunteer visit, giving the specific details of what kind of talk you would like (e.g. science, technology etc.)

NOTE: To ensure that your visit request is successfully pinned on our map for volunteers to see, you must complete the above three steps.

All volunteer visits must always be supervised by another adult. Smart Futures volunteers do not require Garda Vetting, in accordance with the National Vetting Bureau (Children and Vulnerable Persons) Act 2012, as occasional guest speakers do not constitute “coaching, mentoring, counselling, teaching or training of children” as confirmed by Volunteer Ireland.

Secondary school teachers, guidance counsellors and TY coordinators can make a request for a school visit at any time during the school year. Contact or telephone the office on (01) 6073271 if you require any assistance in carrying out the above steps - we are happy to help!

Please read our 'School code of good practice' before registering your school. Details of how your data is managed and stored can also be found in the Data Protection Notice document on the right hand side of this page.

Thank you!
